PocketBanking offers banks a comprehensive range of secure financial and banking services through various mobile smartphones. The PocketBanking suite of products is built on Clear2Pay’s Open Payment Framework (OPF) and connects to the OPF eBanking products. The rise of the Internet a decade ago allowed customers to do banking transactions ‘anytime’, the emergence of mobile and wireless technology has added the ‘anywhere’ component. Mobile devices enable customers to access their bank accounts, obtain information and execute transactions on a range of functionally rich hand-held devices. The PocketBanking solution is available on the Apple iPhone as well as all major smartphone handsets, but it is not limited to the top-end devices.
PocketBanking comes in three distinct flavours:
- SMS: short message based interactive banking services for all mobile phone types
- Mobile Internet Banking (MIB): banking services through web sites and viewed on any HTML enabled device (all smartphones)
- Mobile On-board Banking (MOB): a smartphone applet with embedded security that connects to existing eBanking infrastructure (e.g. iPhone)
All PocketBanking services are available through connection to the Clear2Pay OPF eBanking products. However, the mobile PocketBanking suite of products can connect to any 3rd party server that employs open web services.
